How to select the perfect carpet
Choosing a carpet can be an overwhelming process. When you go to a carpet store, you have many to look at and many fibers to consider. So many patterns and colors to look at and decide on. It can get to be quite a job. But don’t worry, Castle Floors is here with some suggestions and tips to help you narrow your scope of search.
First- What are your requirements?
So the very first thing you want to do is get a list going of what you want the carpet to do, where it is going to be, and how functional you want it. For example, is it in a high or low traffic room? Will it be exposed to daylight or not? Is it a small room or a large room? What is the room's purpose? Do you need an extra durable carpet with stain resistance? Is it pet-friendly? Finally, how big is your budget?
Second- Research your carpet
This is where you look into the carpet itself. First, discover the five primary fibers in a rug: wool, nylon, polyester, olefin, and triexta. Research the characteristics of each of these fibers. Look at natural fibers vs. synthetic ones. Usually, it is fiber that is the deciding factor for most people who are looking for a new carpet.
Third- Quality check
Once you have your carpet, check the quality of it. Look at the density, which is how closely the fibers are tufted. The density value should be 3,000 or more. Check this personally. Check the sample card and look at it closely. If you bend it and see a lot of white space, ask the flooring staff why. Another determinant of quality is the twist number. The range is from one to five. The higher the number, the more durable your carpet will be. That number should be between 3 and 5.
